Nous sommes des millions de femmes et d’hommes, d’organisations, de réseaux, de mouvements et syndicats de tous les coins de la planète, régions et villages, zones rurales et urbaines, de tous les peuples, de tout âge, culture et croyances unis par la ferme conviction que
UN AUTRE MONDE EST POSSIBLE
Riches de nos diversités, de notre pluralisme, de nos alternatives et propositions, nous luttons contre le néolibéralisme, la guerre, la colonisation, le racisme et le patriarcat qui génèrent violence, exploitation, exclusions, pauvreté, faim, désastres écologiques et négations des droits humains.
Depuis de nombreuses années, nous résistons et construisons des processus innovants, de nouvelles cultures d’organisation et d’action allant du local au mondial, en particulier au travers du processus et de la Charte de principes du Forum social mondial dont est issu cet appel.
Conscients de la nécessité de construire notre propre calendrier de mobilisations et soucieux d’amplifier l’impact de ces milliers de formes d’expressions et de manifestations, nous nous engageons à renforcer la solidarité et les convergences entre nos luttes, nos campagnes, ainsi que la construction d’alternatives et d’alliances.
Nous nous engageons à organiser une semaine d’actions qui culminera le 26 janvier 2008 avec une journée mondiale de mobilisation et d’actions.
Nous vous invitons toutes et tous, dans la diversité qui est notre force, à construire de manière créative des actions, manifestations, évènements et convergences sur des thèmes et selon des modalités pratiques que chacun choisira.

Journée mondiale du Forum Social Mondial

Contre la précarisation de nos vies, contre la destruction de la planète, pour des droits pour tou-tes du Nord au Sud.
Dans le cadre de la journée mondiale du Forum Social Mondial, le Comité français pour les Forums Sociaux (CIFS) organise, à Paris, une journée d’initiatives pour rendre visibles les résistances
et alternatives construites et renforcées au fur et à mesure de l’élargissement du processus du Forum Social Mondial, à travers deux moments :
- une marche festive depuis Métro Ménilmontant jusqu’à la salle Olympe de Gouges (RDV à midi) ;
- une après-midi (14h – 18h) d’interventions et témoignages d’actrices et d’acteurs de luttes, de résistances et de construction d’alternatives pour un monde de
respect des droits fondamentaux, de justice et de paix, pour toutes et tous. Avec intermèdes musicaux, festifs, stands, buvettes, expositions, projections… (programme complet joint)

In San Francisco, an exhibition of the Emergency Biennale of Chechnya is one of two public projects the Global Commons Foundation is producing for the WSF in San Francisco. The exhibition will open on January 25th at the California College of the Arts, Playspace gallery.

There will be actions at the border of Mexico and the US against the fence the US has plans to build along the border. Those active against the fence have named it the "wall of death".
In New Orleans, actions will demand the Right to Return, and solidarity actions will take place in different states for Gulf Coast/Katrina Survivors and local housing struggles.
And the AFSC, Jobs with Justice, AFL-CIO are planning various actions with their members.

Women's groups are planning a conference and a march.
In Maharashtra there will be a protest by indebted farmers and their supporters.
In Mumbai a float parade is planned. Delegates also reported that they would try and organize a response to the global call in west Bengal and UP.
INDONESIE:
Farmer groups are responding to the call from Via Campesina, an international movement of peasants, small- and medium-sized producers, landless, rural women, indigenous people, rural youth and agricultural workers.
IRAQ:
The Hiwar (means "dialogue" in Kurdish) Centre in Erbil is coordinating activities that will take place in Erbil, Dohuk, Suleymania and other towns of the Iraqi Kurdistan. In Erbil there will be a panel between laical politicians and activists, islamists, trade unions, NGOs and the local civil society on the meaning of the WSF as an open political space. The Hiwar Centre will also produce material in Arabic on the WSF that will be posted on websites of Iraqi networks for Human Rights and Nonviolence. The Iraqi Nonviolent Movement LAONF expressed interest in organizing decentralized actions in some central and southern towns of Iraq.
